(East Providence, RI) -- Governor Gina Raimondo is signing new legislation establishing a new registry for home care providers. The action took place yesterday at the Goldsmith Manor in East Providence for legislation establishing an individual provider model which will be able to collectively bargain. The state will train, certify, set wages and qualification standards, and will maintain a list of certified providers. The bill's proponents hope it will bump Rhode Island up from its current low ranking in terms of investment in home care.
