(Providence, RI) -- Unionized nurses and other staff at Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children's Hospital are inching toward a second strike this summer. They took a vote of no confidence on Thursday against the CEO of Lifespan and Rhode Island Hospital's president and authorized leaders of the local United Nurses and Allied Professionals union to issue a ten-day strike notice if negotiations with hospital ownership break down. Negotiations are scheduled to resume next Wednesday, after a three-day strike was held last week.
