PC HOCKEY AND IHEARTMEDIA FORGE RADIO PARTNERSHIP

PROVIDENCE,  R.I. (August 6, 2018) – Providence College Athletics and its multimedia  rights-holder, Learfield, have announced a five-year agreement with  iHeartMedia, to become the official radio home of  Providence College men’s hockey on NewsRadio 104.7 FM.  

 “We are  excited to have our program showcased on NewsRadio and the iHeartMedia  family,” Providence College Men’s Hockey Coach Nate Leaman said. “This  relationship allows for a championship program to have a platform that  can reach a major audience. Our goal every year is to compete on the  biggest stages of our sport and we are happy to have iHeartMedia deliver  the coverage to our loyal Friar fans.” 

  Beginning with the  2018-19 hockey season, all Friars men’s hockey games, in addition to all  pregame and postgame network programming will be carried live on  NewsRadio 104.7 FM. The agreement also includes 10 editions of the Nate  Leaman Coaches Show that will air throughout the season. Mike Logan, who  is entering his 24th season as the voice of the Friars, will call all  the live action this season on 104.7 FM.  Logan also will host the Nate  Leaman Coaches show on 104.7.

For the first time ever, all regular and  post-season Providence College men’s hockey games will be carried on  terrestrial radio in the Providence-Warwick market. The new deal also  provides a new hockey coaches show and robust promotional and branding  opportunities across the iHeartMedia-Providence radio station cluster  (94HJY, Coast 93.3, B101, WHJJ and 104.7 FM).

Providence College hockey fans can  also follow the Friars via the TuneIn radio app in addition to live  game broadcasts via Friars All-Access at www.friars.com.
