Whitehouse Sets Tone For Kavanaugh Hearing

(Washington, DC)  --  Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse didn't hold back during a confirmation hearing for U.S. Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh on Tuesday.  Whitehouse, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said in his opening remarks that Kavanaugh has had a bias in favor of right-wing and corporate interests over the course of his career.  Whitehouse also expressed concern about Kavanaugh protecting President Trump from the due process of law and said he doubted Kavanaugh's previous claim that Roe v. Wade is settled law.  Kavanaugh's confirmation hearing will continue on Wednesday.
