(Providence, RI) -- Yesterday's fatal school-area shooting in Providence is drawing reactions from various political officials. Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza, who was among the public officials who were briefed by police on-site yesterday, said the city will come together as a community to support the victim's family. Governor Gina Raimondo, who just signed an executive order banning guns from being possessed by anyone other than active law enforcement on school grounds, said we need to come together to end the gun violence epidemic. Rhode Island's Congressional delegation offered its condolences, and Senator Jack Reed also talked about needing action to keep guns from flooding the streets.
