Worcester Approves PawSox Stadium Plan

(Worcester, MA)  --  The plan to bring a new stadium for the Pawtucket Red Sox in Worcester is clearing its first legislative hurdle.  The Telegram and Gazette reports the Worcester City Council Economic Development Committee on Wednesday approved the financing package that calls for the city to borrow just over one-hundred-million dollars to construct the ballpark, which team officials want ready by 2021.  The full council will take up the recommendation next Wednesday.
