Cranston Dog Trainer Fails To Appear In Court

(Wrentham, MA)  --  The Rhode Island dog trainer accused of lying to police about the death of a former New England Patriots player's pet was a no-show in court on Wednesday.  Amelia Ferreira of Cranston had been caring for Knox, an English bulldog belonging to former Pats linebacker Jerod Mayo, and reportedly told police the dog went missing this summer before admitting the dog died at her home.  The Sun Chronicle reports Ferreira was scheduled to be arraigned in Wrentham District Court but did not appear, meaning a warrant will be issued for her arrest.
