(Cranston, RI) -- Republican candidate for Rhode Island governor Allan Fung is announcing a plan he would implement for school safety in the state. Fung says he would pay for a law enforcement presence in schools with a 50-50 cost share between the state, and cities and towns. He says he would also set aside 30-thousand dollars for each school to make safety upgrades. Fung says his idea would differ from Governor Gina Raimondo's program in that it would not be on an application-and-committee-review basis.
