(Washington, DC) -- An additional allegation of sexual misconduct against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh which reportedly came from a Rhode Island man is being recanted. In a transcript of an interview conducted by Senate Judiciary Committee investigators with Kavanaugh from Tuesday, the justice nominee was told the individual, whose name was redacted, recently called Senator Sheldon Whitehouse's office making allegations concerning a rape on a boat in Newport in 1985, with which he claimed Kavanaugh had involvement. Multiple media outlets have reported the description of the accuser's Twitter account matches one registered to a Tiverton man named Jeffrey Catalan, who tweeted Wednesday night that he made a mistake with the allegations and apologized.
