(Providence, RI) -- The union for Providence police officers is endorsing an opponent of Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza in the general election. WPRI-TV reports the Providence Fraternal Order of Police announced Thursday it has endorsed independent Dianne Witman. None of the city's public employee unions endorsed any of the candidates in the Democratic primary this month, including Elorza.
