(Boston, MA) -- Forty illegal immigrants are in federal custody following a three-day roundup in Rhode Island and three other New England states. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials in Boston say the enforcement and removal operation was held September 20th-22nd and that many of those taken into custody have criminal histories. ICE officials also noted that several of those swept up in the raids had illegally re-entered the U.S. after having been deported at least once before. New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Connecticut were the other states.
