(Providence, RI) -- The man accused of being involved in a shootout with police in Woonsocket back in July is being indicted by a statewide grand jury. Tyler Chandler of Portsmouth faces one count of assault with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious bodily injury, four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, five counts of discharging a firearm while committing a crime of violence, and one count of carrying an unlicensed firearm. One officer was reportedly hit in the thigh during the exchange of gunfire. Chandler is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on October 17th.
