Students Stage Walkout To Protest School Condition

(Newport, RI)  --  Students at a Newport school where criticisms of the physical condition of the building have been recently renewed staged a walkout yesterday.  The students at Rogers High School were protesting the safety and health hazards of the school, including mold, mice and plumbing problems.  The Newport School Committee could ask the city council to place a bond question on the 2020 ballot to finance a new high school, but students say they need a more immediate fix.
