(Providence, RI) -- A gun safety task force created by Governor Gina Raimondo in the wake of the Parkland, Florida school shooting is releasing its final recommendations on the topic. The 43-member task force recommends banning ammunition feeding devices -- also known as magazines -- with a capacity of over ten rounds, prohibiting conceal-carry on and near schools and government buildings, and raising the age to purchase a long gun from 18 to 21. The group did not call for a ban on military-style assault weapons, but instead suggested a new requirement to have them registered with state or local law enforcement.
