(Undated) -- Rhode Island is under a Flash Flood Watch from the National Weather Service from Thursday afternoon until Friday morning. Forecasters say moderate to heavy rainfall is anticipated, averaging around two to three inches with locally-heavier amounts as high as three to five inches, as the remnants of Hurricane Michael move through. The watch information from the weather service indicates the ground is still fairly-saturated from a series of heavy rainfall events late last month into early this month. Additionally, astronomical tides are slightly higher than average because of the new moon.
