Village's Firefighter Roster Is Unexpectedly Empty

(Burrillville, RI)  --  One Rhode Island village is being left without any firefighters after a series of layoffs and resignations.  The volunteer firefighters in Nasonville, part of Burrillville, quit after the community voted to eliminate paid firefighters just a few weeks ago.  Fire district chairman Gerald LaPierre says coverage will continue from neighboring districts and adds that a recruitment drive is being planned.
