(Providence, RI) -- Providence City Council President David Salvatore is being asked to apologize for allegedly reacting angrily to the way a couple of council members voted on an agenda item. Councilwoman Jo-Ann Ryan tells GoLocalProv.com the council's ordinance committee voted unanimously on Monday to continue an ordinance focusing on minority and women-owned businesses because the city solicitor needed more time to review it. She told the website Salvatore texted her saying her vote was shameful and then got into a verbal altercation with her and fellow councilwoman Carmen Castillo. Salvatore said he did not feel like he acted inappropriately, according to a report from The Providence Journal.
