(East Providence, RI) -- Weekend lane closures are scheduled for Interstate 195 in East Providence this weekend. The Rhode Island Department of Transportation says lane shifts and traffic pattern changes will take place at the Horton Farm Bridge, with crossover lanes being implemented from Exit 6 to the Massachusetts state line. RIDOT says the changes are needed to allow for the continuing demolition of the structurally-deficient bridge and to address an urgent structural issue on one of the bridge abutments.
