(Narragansett, RI) -- Narragansett Town Council President Susan Cicilline-Buonanno , the sister of Congressman David Cicilline, is dropping her bid for re-election. Cicilline-Buonanno sent a letter to local media outlets and officials on Friday with the notification of her decision. She was pulled over by a Warwick police officer in August for suspicion of driving under the influence while the police department was being filmed for the A-and-E show LivePD, but was not arrested. The decision received criticism for alleged preferential treatment, but the police department claimed the officer didn't know who he was stopping.
