Providence Teachers Approve New Contract

(Providence, RI)  --  A new three-year contract is being ratified by members of the Providence teacher union.  The agreement was approved almost unanimously Thursday night and will now go for ratification before the Providence City Council.  It calls for an overall salary increase of over five percent.  Teachers had initiated a work-to-rule order but with the new deal, that's being lifted.
