Police Department Discusses Large Heroin Bust

(Providence, RI)  --  The Providence Police Department talked to reporters on Tuesday about the department's reported seizure of nearly one-million dollars' worth of heroin from an apartment last week.  Public Safety Commissioner Steven Pare said the confiscation of the 23 kilograms represents what is believed to be the largest heroin seizure in state history, and the police action will have a huge impact on the supply of the drug in the city and surrounding area.  Officers arrested Jose Figueroa Rosales and said he consented to allow police to search his apartment in the city's Silver Lake neighborhood, where the heroin was reportedly discovered in the cushions of school-bus seats.
