These days more and more people seem to be traveling with their pets, and some airports are noticing. With federal regulations requiring airports that serve over 10,000 passengers a year to have pet relief stations for service animals, some airports are taking things up a notch to accommodate folks’ four-legged friends.
Well, Upgraded Points has just come out with their list of the 10 Most Pet-Friendly States in the U.S., awarding points for airports that go above and beyond what is required of them. Topping the list is New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, which has one terminal that features a 4,000-square-foot outdoor garden for pets and passengers. They also have pet bathrooms with artificial grass and replicas of fire hydrants, as well as 24/7 animal care and veterinary services for all kinds of pets, including dogs, cats, horses, birds, livestock and exotic animals.
