Baltimore Stabbing Victim Was Rhode Island Native

(Undated)  --  The woman who was fatally stabbed after giving money to a panhandler in Baltimore, Maryland, was from Providence.  A public memorial will be held for Jacquelyn Smith in Maryland on Friday, followed by a private family viewing on December 15th in her hometown.  Smith died after the incident on Saturday.  She reportedly had given money to a woman who appeared to be holding a baby and panhandling in the rain, when a man approached, snatched her necklace and purse, and stabbed her during a brief scuffle.
