(Providence, RI) -- Rhode Island is suing Google. State Treasurer Seth Magaziner said on Tuesday that the Employees' Retirement System of Rhode Island introduced a shareholder class-action lawsuit against Alphabet Incorporated, Google's parent company, after it was revealed that Google executives covered up privacy breaches that compromised the personal information of more than 52-million users. Magaziner said in a statement that the company's misleading action is an unconscionable violation of public trust.
