(Providence, RI) -- The Rhode Island Department of Transportation is letting drivers know that an anticipated traffic pattern change for the Route 6-10 interchange project is happening a couple of days earlier than originally scheduled. RIDOT says a new pattern will be implemented tomorrow due to adverse weather forecasted for later this week. The 6-10 split will be moved about a half-mile to the north of its current location, meaning drivers using the 6-10 connector outbound will encounter the change more quickly. The change is being implemented so that demolition of old road and bridge sections can continue through the winter months, according to RIDOT.
