(Cranston, RI) -- A controversial new sporting facility is getting initial approval in Cranston. The city's planning commission said OK on Tuesday to a zoning change needed for a proposed Topgolf center, a technologically-enhanced golfing and entertainment venue. Residents expressed concern about the traffic and noise that they think will come with the facility, to go up at the old Citizens Bank building on Sockanosset Cross Road near the Chapel View development. The proposal heads to the City Council for a vote next.
