Child Who Saw Hospital Rooftop Fire Honored

(Providence, RI)  --  The young boy who noticed a fire on the roof of Hasbro Children's Hospital got the hero treatment on Wednesday.  Angel Jimenez, a first-grader, was given a child-sized firefighter's helmet and got to take a short ride in the fire truck that had been the first to respond on Tuesday night.  Hospital officials say five operating rooms at Hasbro are closed due to water damage sustained from the blaze; several surgeries were canceled yesterday and more are being moved to Rhode Island Hospital.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
