(Middletown, RI) -- National Grid is continuing to work on restoring natural gas service to affected customers on Aquidneck Island. The utility says service was suspended to about seven-thousand customers in Newport and Middletown on Monday night after a low transmission supply issue from its natural gas supplier. According to an information page set up on its website about the incident, the process of re-pressurization to about 340 Middletown customers began last night.
