(Cranston, RI)--A vote of no confidence has been taken against the director of the state Department of Children, Youth and Families.A majority of social workers belonging to Service Employees International Union Local 580 made that vote against DCYF leader Trista Piccola in Cranston last night.The union's president says the recent case of a death of a young child in Warwick, Zah-Nae Rothgeb, was the tipping point, as it resulted in one worker being placed on administrative leave.The workers feel their caseloads are too high and the department is understaffed.
