Update Provided On Plans For Oliver Hazard Perry

(Newport, RI)--The operators of Rhode Island's official tall ship are announcing that the ship will be kept in the state year-round.The Oliver Hazard Perry learning vessel did not sail south last year as it had done in previous years and the ship's board of directors reviewed its operations model.The group running the vessel says it recently received a three-hundred-thousand-dollar pledge from an anonymous donor towards launching the ship and committing to programming contracts.The ship has been dry-docked at a shipyard in Quonset.
