DEM Shares Details On Fee Increases For Beach Parking, Camping

(Westerly, RI)--The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management spelled out the increase in beach parking and camping fees on Wednesday that are part of the governor's proposed new investments in the state's natural resources.Weekday and weekend beach parking fees will increase two dollars for residents and four dollars for non-residents, while the seasonal increase totals will be ten and twenty, respectively.Camping fees will be going up by as much as sixteen dollars for residents and forty dollars for out-of-staters.The DEM held a listening session on the topic of the increases yesterday in Westerly and has additional sessions scheduled next week in Lincoln and Narragansett.
