(Providence, RI)--A sales tax holiday could come to Rhode Island if a pair of lawmakers get their way.State Senator Mark McKenney and state Representative Joseph Solomon Jr. are proposing to freeze the tax on most purchases on August 10th and 11th.They point to neighboring Southern New England states Connecticut and Massachusetts as successful examples of where the holidays take place.Solomon said in a statement that it's time lawmakers gave something back to the people of Rhode Island.
