(East Greenwich, RI)--The town of East Greenwich is announcing a new fire chief.The town council there has appointed Bernard Patenaude to the position, according to an announcement made on Wednesday.Patenaude had almost four decades of service with the Cranston Fire Department, where he was the assistant chief for the last nine years.Going through a period of turmoil, East Greenwich has run through four interim or acting fire chiefs in less than two years.
