Arrests Made In Connection To Uganda Kidnapping

Officials say eight men have been arrested in connection to the kidnapping of a California woman and her safari tour guide in Uganda.

Reports say the men are being questioned by police and are thought to be illegal fish traders and ivory smugglers. They also are said to have ties to kidnapping tourists.Kimberly Endicottand her local guide were found Sunday on the border of Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

There are conflicting reports about whether or not a ransom was paid. A Uganda government spokesman said it had and that "a number of people were involved in rescuing Kimberly and her driver."
