Parent Who Allegedly Paid Gordon Ernst For Son's Admission Pleads Guilty

(Boston, MA)--One of the guilty pleas announced by the U.S. Justice Department on Monday in connection to the college admissions scandal relates to former University of Rhode Island tennis coach Gordon Ernst.Prosecutors say Stephen Semprevivo agreed to pay Ernst four-hundred-thousand dollars to have his son attend Georgetown University while Ernst was coaching there.Ernst, a Cranston native, was hired at URI in 2018 but resigned after he himself was charged in connection to the case last month.
