Typically a lady will get a showy engagement ring to signal she's 'taken' until her wedding day, but now men are starting to wear engagement rings, too. Fashion search platform Lyst reveals that searches for masculine engagement rings have jumped 66 percent since last year. The site credits some of the increase to male same-sex couples wearing rings to mark their engagements, but says that some famous heterosexual males are wearing engagement bling as well. Twenty three-year-old Lauren Dacorro tells the NY Post that after her boyfriend popped the question with a pretty ring she started shopping for his engagement jewelry, saying, "I think it's kind of stupid that only females have engagement rings to show that they're taken. I think guys should have one too-- it's an equality thing."
