(Undated)--Worker strikes are impacting Stop and Shop stores in Rhode Island.Various media reports indicated locations in Providence, North Providence, Pawtucket, Warwick, Aquidneck Island and South County closed on Thursday after employees walked out in the early afternoon; some reportedly re-opened with just store managers working.Stop and Shop says it has contingency plans in place to minimize disruption and a spokesperson said all stores will be open Friday, according to a report from WJAR-TV.The union locals representing 31-thousand employees in Southern New England have been in contract negotiations with the supermarket chain since the middle of February.
