White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders thinks that Congress “isn’t smart enough” to look through President Trump's taxes. She made the comments on “Fox News Sunday.”
In a wide-ranging discussion about a variety of issues, Sanders quipped that Congress – particularly this group – wouldn't be able to go through and understand the “possibly thousands of pages” that Trump's taxes would be. How could that be? Sanders surmised that most Congressional members don't do their own taxes and wouldn't trust them to go through decades of "success that the President has and determine anything."
Several Democratic presidential candidates in the 2020 race have released their tax documents and are calling on Trump to do the same. A House committee is also demanding the President’s returns from the IRS...they've got until April 23rd to respond to the demand.
