Wyatt Detention Center Board Stays Decision To Suspend ICE Contract

(Central Falls, RI)--The board overseeing the Wyatt Detention Center in Central Falls is voting to freeze its decision to suspend the center's contract with ICE.The Central Falls Detention Facility Corporation Board took that action at an emergency meeting on Sunday after bondholders filed a federal lawsuit last week to block the removal of ICE detainees.Board Chairman Joseph Molina Flynn said in a statement on Monday that the vote was made to comply with a federal court directive and to show good faith during a court-ordered mediation process with the bondholders, which he said started yesterday.
