(Providence, RI) -- The Rhode Island House approved legislation allowing contracts of municipal workers and teachers to be extended indefinitely on Tuesday. The bill was opposed by mayors and other officials who said there will no incentives for unions to make concessions during labor negotiations if it becomes law. It now moves to the Senate for consideration.
