Indefinite Contract, Firefighter Overtime Bills Move Through Senate

(Providence, RI) -- A pair of bills friendly to public unions passed the Rhode Island Senate Labor Committee on Wednesday. The committee held hearings on, then approved legislation which indefinitely extends expired labor contracts for teachers and municipal employees, and another which sets the overtime threshold for firefighters at 42 hours. The bills previously received House approval and now move on to the full Senate.
