Pope Donates 500K To Help Migrants

The Pope is donating 500-thousand dollars to help Central American migrants. The Vatican says the Pope's donation will be split among 27 projects in Mexico and will be used for housing, food, and necessities for the migrants.

In a statement, the Vatican said nearly 75-thousand Central American migrants are stranded in Mexico, and the Catholic Church hosts thousands of those migrants in hotels.

Pope Francis has called for a compassionate approach to migration. The money will come from the Catholic Church's Peter's Pence fund, from church collections around the world.
