(Providence, RI)--The Providence Police Department is introducing five new Clydesdale horses into its Mounted Command Unit.Officials gathered to welcome the horses at the unit's stables in Roger Williams Park yesterday morning; the horses were donated by Cranston-based beverage distributor McLaughlin and Moran.Mayor Jorge Elorza says the animals support uniformed police during large public events and also serve as terrific ambassadors for the Providence PD.
