Denver Votes On Decriminalizing ‘Magic Mushrooms’ Today

Voters in Denver, Colorado will decide today if magic mushrooms will be decriminalized in their city. The measure would make the personal use and possession of psilocybin mushrooms by people 21-years old or older Denver law enforcement's "lowest priority."

Now, this doesn't mean the mushrooms would belegalexactly…it would "prohibit the city from spending resources to impose criminal penalties." In other words, still sort of illegal – but only if there’s other trouble you get into. And selling “magic mushrooms” will still be illegal.

The initiative, which is being is led by the group,Decriminalize Denver, seeks to make the mushrooms, which are currently a Schedule 1 drug, legal.
