(Narragansett, RI)--A Narragansett Town Council meeting was packed on Monday with people concerned about proposed budget cuts affecting funding for the town's library. The council voted three-to-two at a workshop last month to slash the funding in half in 2020 based on the amount of surplus money the library has.Opponents said if the library is not level-funded, it will miss out on state funding and services. The town council voted earlier this year to put up for sale a building that had been purchased for the purpose of moving the library.
