(Providence, RI)--Little Roady - R-O-A-D-Y - is off and running in the state of Little Rhody.The public in Providence began taking rides in the self-driving electric shuttle service pilot program from the Rhode Island Department of Transportation yesterday.The first passenger almost didn't get his intended ride: The Providence Journal reports the would-be passenger was chatting with people at Providence Station about what it would be like to take the first ride when it departed without him inside, and that the human operator of the vehicle overrode the automated controls to pull over.
