(Providence, RI)--The state Senate is backing a bill that keeps the Affordable Care Act in place at the state level even if the courts or Congress eliminate the federal laws that created it.Bill sponsor and Senate Health and Human Services Committee chair Joshua Miller says the bill also tells insurers in Rhode Island that the quality of insurance won't change, so they know what benefits and coverage they can offer to policyholders. The bill is now going to the state House, where there is companion legislation.
