(Providence, RI)--The Rhode Island House is passing a bill to compensate people who have been wrongfully imprisoned.The measure now moves to the Senate.The legislation would grant an award of 50-thousand dollars for each year an innocent person spends in a correctional center.Discussion from legislators on the bill has centered on Jeffrey Scott Hornoff, a former Warwick police officer who spent more than six years in prison for a murder to which someone else later confessed.
