Providence Again Deals Crushing Defeat To Illegal Vehicles

(Providence, RI)--In what is apparently becoming an annual event, over two-dozen seized vehicles were destroyed in Providence on Tuesday. The dirt bikes and ATVs were crushed with heavy equipment at the Department of Public Works on Allens Avenue. The city held a similar event last year after an ordinance was passed by City Council in 2017 allowing for the vehicles to be confiscated.Mayor Jorge Elorza said the use of the dirt bikes and ATVs on city streets is illegal and they are a danger to the public, and he thanked the Providence Police Department for working to drastically curb the issue.
