(Providence, RI)--A new report is incredibly critical of Providence Public Schools. The report from the Johns Hopkins Institute for Education Policy was requested after students scored poorly on the state's new standardized test.It says students are being failed by the district, the teachers union and the state Department of Education; specifically, its findings include that students are learning very little, there is widespread bullying, and it is almost impossible to fire bad teachers.Community conversations are being planned by state leaders in the coming weeks to develop recommendations for moving forward.
